Hey guys

After 1 month of biking, hunting, swimming... I´m down here in Chile with K2 since a few days! We are up here in El Colorado ski are, where we stay in a super nice K2 lodge. We are shooting for the new catalogue and testing some new skis. The weather is amazing, the sunsets unbelievable and the food even better!

Thx to K2 making this good times happen!

09-05-2010 update

After 5 days in the hospital of Lienz I was at home for 2 days! Till Saturday i was in another hospital, where I had a surgery.
I broke some bones in my face, when I hit a rock at the crash. I also hit my back and my knee, but it´s not that bad. Now I´m recovering in the chillervalley - at home - sweet! Thx the gods that I survived this "No Fall Zone"!
Looking forward to Bali in a few weeks....

01-05-2010 Großglockner - Pallavicini Rinne

Unser Vorhaben, die berühmt berüchtigte Pallavicini Rinne zu befahren, endete mit einem schweren Sturz.
Es galt den Großglockner mit knapp 3800 Meter auf Skiern zu bezwingen. Doch der Aufstieg war schwerer als wir uns gedacht hatten! Nach drei Seillängen abseilen, direkt neben dem Glocknerkreuz, standen wir im oberen Drittel der ca. 55° steilen, vereisten Rinne! Da auf dem Grad zum Kreuz reger Betrieb herrschte und wir mit den anderen Bergsteigern noch gescherzt hatten, sie sollten aufpassen, dass sie uns keine Steine runterlassen, geschah um ca. 12:00 Uhr der entscheidende Steinschlag. Ich teilte meinen Kollegen mit, dass ich die Rinne schnellstmöglich verlassen möchte, da wir die Situation nicht mehr sicher vorkam.
Dann lief alles sehr schnell. Ich fuhr bis dahin, wo sich die Rinne das erste mal weiter öffnete, um dort auf meine Kollegen zu warten. Doch kurz bevor ich diesen Punkt erreichte, hat es mir den Ski "aufgeschlagen" und das Schicksal nahm seinen Lauf...
Ich überschlug mich so oft, dass ich nicht mehr wusste wo oben und unten ist. Nach 400hm blieb ich liegen. Das war auch der Punkt wo mich der ÖAMTC Heli per Taubergung abholte.
Wie durch ein Wunder habe ich mir nur "leichte" Verletzungen zugezogen!!!

Danke nochmal an meine Kameraden für die Erste Hilfe, ebenfalls dem Flugretter des ÖAMTC Hubschraubers mit dem ich noch über das anstehende Gauderfest scherzen durfte und den Ärzten und Krankenschwestern im KH Lienz.
Und nicht zu vergessen, meine Eltern und meine Freundin!

14-04-2010 AK trip April 2010

The last 2 weeks i was in Girdwood/Alyeska, shooting the AK mountains! Photographer Michi Neumann, Olli Grau, Tobi Geißler  and I had an amazing timer over there! We arrived on a blue bird day - stoked to see all the nice mountains out of the airplane.
After 3 days of heavy snowstorm, the weather cleared up. We went catskiing and also into the ski resort, where we got some massiv runs with faceshots all day long! On the best days we went Heli skiing. Damn, such good snow stability, steep and deep!!! 20-03-2010 update

The last weeks we had pretty different conditions! Beginning of March was quite good on some places, but the last 2 weeks were super bad! I was in svizzerland to get some heli time and then i went back to Arlberg, but it became super warm. I also was filming with the Aestivation crew for the BMW Freeride guide - a new project coming out fall 2010. After we canceled our norway trip, because of rain and no snow, I decided to stay at home for a few days. So I went up to my home mountains to search a spot for a step up or a backcountry kicker, but there was no chance to jump something like that! The snow was too wet and we had about 10° on the mountain! damn!!! Good time to ride my park skis for the first time this year and try some new stuff in the www.vans-penken-park.com, which is still in good shape;
Last week I was shooting with the "One big Park - Papparazzi Tour" in the Kitzsteinhorn region, together with my snwbd friend Rudi Kröll; we only did some shots in the park, no snow in the BC. check out the vid: http://community.onebigpark.at/video/viewVideo.php?id=580
So yeah, this weekend we should get some fresh snow! We´ll see!
Another 2 or 3 shootings the next days and then I go to AK - back to the winter yeahhhhh

03-03-2010 news from the last days

After a few really good days in Chamonix, I went to munich for the ISPO. Since then I was pretty much traveling around and searching the snow. My best days were for sure at the Arlberg region and in the south of Austria!!! 80cm pow over night and another 20 -30cm during the day; I was shooting with y-dream production for our new movie - Made in Austria II.
I also was in the park in Davos - skiing for a BMW show - i pissed in my pants when i droped into the Superpipe;
And a few more shootings with Peter Mathis for K2 and some mags; We filmed some really good lines in the chillervalley - still found some good snow!
